Job Description

  1. Lead continuous improvement activities and Policy Deployment objectives to meet freight spend objectives

  2. Plant support for 3PL freight forwarders and 3PL freight payment, off-site cross docks, Value Stream Management, freight damage process, and problem solving with all 3PL, miscellaneous shipping system

  3. Rate analysis and quoting of freight spend for current and future business as well as freight business plan, allocation of freight spend within product lines, forecasting of freight spend

  4. Work with cross functional departments, internal and external customers, other Bosch plants to consolidate freight

  5. Level loading of inbound freight across organization, align with warehouse personnel, design frequency of freight pick ups and deliveries

  6. Training and maintenance of standard work associated with freight

  7. Mentor/coach other freight associates on improved methods, transparency in the process, and ideal state goals.

Project driven position with focus to continuously improve freight activities and cost reductions to support overall business requirements for the plant. Active participant or lead on value stream mapping with 3PL to reduce waste and align projects to meet targets and goals. Development and maintenance of tools to support freight payment through 3PL, allocating of shared freight within product lines and all modes of transportation, auditing and approval of freight invoices as well as lead for reporting of special freight for the plant. Effectively communicate within all levels – internal and external customers, high organizational skills, ability to lead projects, manage stress, multi-task.


  • BS degree in Business Mgt. or similar area, and 3 - 5 years exp. in traffic and/or related area;

  • comprehensive knowledge of tracking systems.

  • Provides functional support and guidance to a work group.

  • Coordinates efforts with customers to resolve complex problems and unique needs.

  • Accepts accountability for the completion of work under limited guidance.

  • Makes decisions within area of specialty, manages medium to large projects.

  • Takes and encourages initiative and responsibility for development.
