Job SummaryiGroupBox1iiiMarine Corps Community Services (MCCS)iis looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!i MCCSiis a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.iWeioffer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.iAs a service-oriented organization, we never waver in our commitment to our Corps.iiFIRST AND FOREMOST, THE POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF MARINES, SAILORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS.iiMajor DutiesiGroupBox1iiiDrives one or more types of vehicles, such as sedans, jeeps, station wagons, panel trucks, pickup trucks, flatbed trucks, which typically have a Gross Vehicle Weight up to 10,000 pounds, throughout an installation under limited traffic conditions at low speeds. Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules and standard routes to transport personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools. Ensures that passenger safety rules and regulations are followed. iEnsures cargo is protected from weather and is properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss during transit. May load and unload vehicles by hand. iPerforms operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, and cleaning and washing vehicles. iMay use two-way radios to receive and transmit messages. iCompletes trip tickets and preventive maintenance records.Responsible for a variety of duties that require heavy physical effort to include operating heavy powered equipment and moving merchandise. iResponsible for custodial maintenance and security of the assigned activity. iMaintains the assigned area in a neat and orderly manner. Cleans and scrubs restrooms using proper chemicals for wash basins, ceramic tiles, and mirrors, to include disinfecting and deodorizing toilets, sinks, replenishing soap towels, and toilet paper daily. iSets up and/or moves furniture and equipment as needed. iDusts all walls, furniture, shelves, fixtures, and cleans counter surfaces, etc. iWashes windows and glass partitions. iWet mops, waxes, buffs floors, and sweeps daily. iReplaces light bulbs, and makes minor repairs to equipment. iReports hazardous conditions, broken, lost or stolen equipment to supervisor. Inventories supplies and notifies supervisor when ordering is required.Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. iAssists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. iAcknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. iAsks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.i iChecks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. iTakes action to solve problems quickly. iAlerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.Adheres to safety regulations and standards. iUses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. iPromptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.Performs other related duties as required.iiQualificationsiGroupBox1iiiSkills and Knowledge:iiBasic skill in manipulating the controls for driving vehicles. Knowledge of the height, width, length, and weight of the vehicle in order to operate the vehicles safely on short runs, following limited or prescribed routes throughout a government installation. Knowledge of installation traffic rules and regulations, and skill to read and understand installation maps and other locator documents for finding various buildings and facilities. Knowledge and skill to load and arrange cargo properly onto vehicle to prevent damage to material.
