Beaufort Memorial Hospital CODING CODING REIMBURSEMENT SPECIALIST II in Beaufort, South Carolina
Converts diagnoses and procedures for hospital inpatient and outpatient services, psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services, and inpatient rehab facility services into numerical codes utilizing ICD9CM and CPT coding systems. Makes DRG assignments to inpatient accounts and APC assignments to outpatient accounts. Initiates chart assembly and chart analysis process. Works with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to obtain appropriate documentation for the coding of the patient's medical record.
Education is preferred to include specialized health care subjects, i.e., medical science, pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, ICD9CM coding, CPT/HCPCS coding.
For inpatient coding, minimum of 3 years ICD9CM coding experience in hospital setting. For outpatient coding, minimum of 3 years CPT & 3 years ICD9CM coding experience in a physician multi-specialty setting or hospital setting. Minimum of two years experience working with computers, preferably coding encoder software/abstracting software.
Inpatient Coders -RHIA, RHIT, CCS preferred or CPC-H. Outpatient Coders - RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H preferred or CPC.
