WSP is currently seeking a highly qualified Structural Bridge Engineer / Manager to step into a key role as the Bridge Inspection Group Manager for our robust and rapidly growing South Carolina bridge inspection practice! This position would ideally be located in Columbia, but could also be located in Greenville or Charleston.

In this role, you will manage the bridge inspection group, overseeing bridge inspection contracts, including field work, load ratings, repair plans and asset management tasks. Project experience with SC State and local agencies is essential as you will play a key role in business development throughout South Carolina. In addition, you will also be involved in supporting business development actitivies throughout the Southeastern United States as needed. Anticipated travel is 40% or less.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.

  • Professional Engineering Registration in South Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • 10+ years of working experience related to bridge inspection.

  • Experience with SCDOT bridge inspection projects as well as those other agencies or municipalites

  • Proficiencies and relevant experience in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • NHI Fracture Critical certification

  • NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges certification

  • NHI Safety of in service bridge refresher certification in the past 2 years

  • SPRAT Level I License

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
