Lockheed Martin F-16 Crew Chief / Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Greenville, South Carolina
Description: This position will support the Iraq F-16 Program and is located at Balad AB Iraq.
Duties: F-16 Aircraft Maintenance Specialist (Crew Chief) responsible for daily flight and maintenance requirements of F-16 aircraft. Provide for the launch, recovery, and preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor/major maintenance, engine run, and servicing. Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all electro-mechanical systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance. Responsible maintenance performed on the assigned aircraft. Will be required to perform Aero Repair functions as required. This includes but is not limited to major maintenance actions such as landing gear, flight control surfaces, and other items. This will also include assisting with periodic inspections. Will provide technical guidance and OJT to customer technicians.
Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. The site is a secure compound that team members are confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are necessary.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program. Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in this career field. Candidate must have at least 4 years’ experience with F-16 aircraft maintenance activities. Progressive and documented experience in the fighter aircraft maintenance environment. Documented qualifications in related maintenance fields. Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD secret clearance. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting.
*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
* SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Must possess or have the ability to acquire an interim clearance to start, AND maintain clearance thereafter.
- Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

-Candidate must have minimum of 4 years’ experience with F-16 aircraft maintenance activities.

Aircraft Mechanic / Aircraft craftsman A&P Lic.
Have a working knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems and components on the F-16 aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance.
Preflight/thru flight/post flight & BPO inspections
Previous experience setting up maintenance work areas
A strong understanding of the maintenance process
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
Ability to speak/communicate in Arabic
