SWJ Technology Logistics Engineer in Ladson, South Carolina


Manage materials, goods, and products (including importing and exporting) to ensure that they are in the right place to meet customer demand.


  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.

  • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance.

  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.

  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs; negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers and recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency.

  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process and interpret trends and analyze and review data.

  • Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria and ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.

  • Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in order to support customer and business demands.


  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field of study -OR- the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in a Supply Chain or Transportation function within the automotive manufacturing environment with emphasis on logistics processes and procedures.


  • Project Management skills and a proven record of effective problem-solving.

  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and associated components, specifically in the automotive industry.

  • Effective planning skills; ability to handle multiple projects through to completion.

  • Business acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of costs, production schedules, and customer orders.
