Blanchard Machinery Field Service Technician in Longs, South Carolina
The Field Technician is responsible for performing jobs involving servicing and repair of all types of mechanical, hydraulic and diesel-powered equipment, working with a high level of independence. On the job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning will ensure that skills remain current. The Technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. They must be committed to safety standards and champion a healthy and safe work environment while consistently represent Blanchard in a professional manner. Must be 18 years of age; high school degree required.
Degree or certification in Diesel Technology, preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of previous related work experience in a service setting.
Must have engine, electrical, hydraulic, transmissions and diagnostic troubleshooting and repair skills.
Successful completion of a formal technical training program, preferred.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Demonstrate advanced computer skills.
Must be a self-starter, be able to work with little supervision and demonstrate both organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to read technical manuals and document work.
Must be a self-starter, well organized and demonstrate attention to detail with a high-level of accuracy.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 violation in the past 3 years.
Current CDL license with air-brake, required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily outside in various conditions throughout the day.
Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour call may be required.
Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Must be able to lift varied weight.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Adhere to and follow all applicable and required safety standards and procedures, at all times.
Apply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders.
Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins.
Disassemble, inspect, determine parts needed and reassemble to factory specifications.
Perform preventive maintenance, test equipment and conduct inspections to ensure proper operation.
Operate lifting devices.
Order, exchange and return parts for assigned jobs in timely manner.
Demonstrate proper use of service information systems.
Complete service reports and all other paperwork accurately and on-time.
Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
