Lead AR Specialist
Overview of PositionThe Lead AR Specialist is a working group leader position. They will handle all of the functions of an AR Specialist as well as in filling in for Supervisor in their absence. They will follow up on outstanding A/R payers and/or including resolution of insurance denials.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Handle all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account
Contact insurance carriers, patients and other facilities as needed to get a maximum payment on accounts
Identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability.
Research and resolve accounts appearing on Delinquent Insurance Report, Collection Ledger and Government Payor Report as directed by management.
Make appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked for maximize reimbursement.
Responsible for training others and answering questions from team members
What are the requirements needed for this position?
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
5+ years work experience, medical billing and research experienced required
Demonstrated leadership skills and/or abilities
Excellent understanding of A/R process
Computer literacy with command of MS Office software including MS Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and PowerPoint presentations
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior level clients, and high level of
Good knowledge of healthcare, government and/or insurance industry.
Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently and work well with others.
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
Work from home currently due to COVID but employee may eventually need to return to the office
