WAREHOUSE MANAGER (Charleston, SC):TheWarehouse Managerwill direct and coordinate activities of warehouse operation, ensuring activities are performed according to the Statement of Work and satisfaction of customer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities ofWarehouse Manager:WAREHOUSE OPS:Regularly reviews the operation at warehouse to identify and correct any activities that are not resulting in the desired level of service to our customers.Monitors warehouse operation regularly to assure the careful and efficient handling of all inbound and outbound activities.Resolves any customer or employee issues within the scope of the warehouse facility, escalating further as necessary.Conducts or attends regular meetings for employees to keep them informed and updated.Communicates warehouse issues to General Manager for resolution and improved efficiency.Monitors work hours of warehouse to schedule coordinated work schedules for warehouse personnel.PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT:Recruits, promotes and/or hires qualified candidates for warehouse.Assures all warehouse employees have the required training and certifications.Evaluates employees' performance and creates development plans to improve their performance in their current role or to prepare them for a future role.Analyzes the need to add or replace positions, justifying these changes through the approval process.GENERAL MANAGEMENT:Enforces the adherence to company policy by personnel at warehouses to assure compliance with internal and external safety, environmental and fiscal standards. Responds to exceptions found through internal or external audits to correct failures of the operations to comply.Participates in establishing long-range goals, objectives and/or strategies, and communicates them to warehouse operation personnel in a way that motivates them to achieve them; prepares RFP's (Requests for Personnel) and/or RFA's (Requests for Appropriation) as necessary.Analyzes activities, costs, operations, and/or forecast data to determine warehouse operation's progress toward desired measurables (summaries of activity) and metrics. Leads related change efforts at the local level.Maintains facility and equipment to corporate standards and specifications; negotiates with local providers of services and/or repairs to keep facility/equipment expenses within budgets.Confers with General Manager and other divisional and corporate staff personnel to review operational performance and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Supervises up 4 lead employees. Also directly supervises up to 20 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or seven to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.EOE/AAP/M/F/Vets/Disabled.For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
