POSITION SUMMARY : The Director of Fulfillment Center Operations develops, plans, and directs the distribution strategies and tactics inline with the broader company structure in order to ensure efficient receiving of goods, accurate inventory, prompt delivery, regulatory/customer compliance and achieving budget goals. This to be done while developing an empowered and engaged culture of leaders and teams. This role is located near Charleston, SC and relocation will be provided.

Functions of the Job:

  • Determines and manages the strategy of distribution planning to ensure best methodology in slotting, receiving, picking and shipping to guarantee goods are shipped/delivered based on customer requirements.

  • Direct distribution operations and processing of wholesale orders shipping to retailers and B2B customers to ensure effective and efficient utilization of the fulfillment center and 3PLS when necessary.

  • Oversees the control and optimization of finished goods inventory to maximize service level, minimize obsolete inventory, and maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Negotiate distribution rates and capacity with 3rd party logistics vendors to ensure capacity, service and cost are in accordance to company strategy.

  • Develops and managers distribution and logistics projects working with IT, Sourcing, Sales, and Accounting to improve processes and ensure efficiencies to comply with customer requirements and business strategies.

  • Determines and manages distribution center budget to accomplish financial performance and business profitability.

  • Direct and coach operations management team to make sure procedures are followed and create a culture of teamwork, accomplishment, and a sense of urgency when needed.

    POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar and/or equivalent work experience.

    Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Distribution Planning (proven experience in slotting, high sku count management, omnichannel distribution planning)

  • Distribution experience with wholesale companies (shipping to multiple retailers Amazon, Walmart, Target,) ideally in within wholesale apparel companies.

  • Solid Inventory Control background

  • Ability to lead Process Improvements.

  • Strong IT experience (WMS, business intelligent tools, ERP, etc.)

  • Distribution budget/ Financial responsibilities

  • A balanced mix of strong analytical skills with an ability to lead, develop across an organization.
